In an inspiring act of gratitude for countless hours of costumed volunteerism, DK Publishing (responsible for the popular Star Wars "Visual Dictionary" book series) announced a $50,000 children’s book donation on behalf of the 501st Legion. More than 7,000 new, full-color reference books are being distributed to The Boys and Girls Clubs of America with help from The Today Show Charitable Foundation, Inc.
"We wanted to thank the 501st Legion in a big way," said DK’s Associate Director of Publicity, Rachel Kempster. “We know that children’s charities are near and dear to hearts of all 501st volunteers." Based upon the success of last year’s LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary events, fans can look forward to more DK/501st collaborations this year!

We are working on a series of changes over the next few weeks to update the site a bit. Look for changes in the overall layout and perhaps even a few new features to make it easier to track our upcoming and past events.
One new feature is already up, though we still need to add updates. The new Calendar feature, in the top frame below the logo, will let you keep track of when and where we’ll be in upcoming weeks.

Members of the Ga501st were pleased to be asked to take part in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of “The Movie Magic of John Williams.” Members of the 501st could be seen at and around the event helping to promote the amazing music written by John Williams over the years. While we are certainly connected to the various Star Wars scores Mr. Williams has written, music from many of his movies were a part of the concert. Pictures should be available soon!
