Georgia’s 501st Supports the Golden Soldiers
Big Day Out Carnival for Special Needs Kids and their Families
The Georgia Garrison of the 501st Legion was proud to support the Golden Soldiers Big Day Out carnival for special needs kids and their families on June 2, 2012 at the North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Ga. Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Biker Scouts, Jawas, Stormtroopers and even General Grievous were on hand to lend their support for this worthy event.
The Golden Soldiers, Inc. is a faith based, 501c(3) non-profit organization focused on spreading the meaning of The Golden Rule as well as hosting events in honor of individuals with special needs.
The 501st Legion is a global all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work.
Thanks again to the members of the Golden Soldiers and all the great kids and their families who came to the Big Day Out. The Georgia 501st is appreciative for the opportunity to attend the event and to meet you all!
If you or someone you know would like to request an appearance from the Georgia 501st for charity or community outreach let us know!
